AIMS:
To develop cultural solidarity in the Mediterranean basin providing access to everybody to the common heritage.
The Sciences have always been source of exchanges in the Mediterranean Riviera, therefore what seems needed is to mediate these old time relationships forming a textual and iconographic corpus on the Sciences in the Mediterranean made accessible through the Information Society tools.
The purpose of digitalizing the documental heritage is a better distribution of the common memory of the two banks of the Mediterranean basin.
This project is based on the successful experience of the INTERNUM project, in which the cooperation brought forth as result the fulfilment of an efficient computer tool in order to value the heritage.

PROJECT SUMMARY:
The Sciences en Méditerranée project has as purpose to value, through the use of Information Society tools, the common scientific heritage on the two banks of the Mediterranean, ancient and (books, manuscripts, files, graphic and photographic documents, audiovisual registers, etc.) regarding common issues.
The proposed themes are :
- Sciences of Nature and Mathematics, Astronomy, Botany.

- Applied Sciences: Medicine, Pharmatheutics, Veterinary Art.
- Traditional Sciences: Alchemy, Divinatory Sciences, Esoterism.
- Auxiliary Sciences of History: Archaeology, Paleography and Codicology, Xylography and Numismatics.
The cooperation established in this project will be applied to gather what is in existence and develop the access to the matters addressed so as to start up a documental resource network on the Sciences in the Mediterranean, available in the Information Society.
